13 nights flight inclusive self-drive tailor-made holiday to Namibia.
Cost from £3,520.00 – Valid from 1st June 2027
Having arrived at the international airport, you will be met and transferred the short distance to Windhoek. Check into your hotel of your choice, enjoy the day at leisure or explore the city centre with its colonial-style buildings, street cafes and craft markets. Your hire car will be delivered to your hotel late afternoon
This morning you travel via endless plains and along stunning mountain ranges into the Namib Desert. Your lodge is situated near the gate to two of Namibia’s most celebrated attractions: Sossusvlei, with some of the highest dunes on Earth, and Sesriem Canyon.
SOSSUSVLEI
Before sunrise, self-drive or opt for an optional guided tour to the gate of the Namib Naukluft Park. The best time to experience the Sossusvlei area is at sunrise when the light paints the dunes and desert palette into deep red, apricot and purple – this part of the day is also the most forgiving, as you are not exposed to the hot afternoon sun when clambering one of the mighty dunes. From Sossusvlei visit Dead Vlei, a surreal white clay pans surrounded by great dunes and dotted with age-old Camelthorn trees. Travelling back, visit the Sesriem Canyon, an 18-million-year-old gorge eroded into the conglomerate floor. After returning to your lodge, cool off in the sparkling pool or take a refreshing drink while overlooking the desert plains.
.
Today you travel via the Namib Naukluft Park to Swakopmund, a tranquil coastal town situated between the Namib Desert and the Atlantic Ocean. Visit the Welwitschia plains and the aptly named Moonlandscape (permit required). Swakopmund, a resort town, and Walvis Bay, Namibia’s main seaport, offer an oasis’s where the sea meets the desert. The towns offer adrenaline-rush activities and are considered Namibia’s “adventures hub”. The list of activities for any tourist alike are endless, ranging from quad biking, boat cruise, camel riding, dune surfing, skydiving, fishing, camel riding, desert tours and many more.
Damaraland is one of the country’s most spectacular regions with vast, arid plains that are intersected by sudden towering outcrops. One of the main attractions is the picturesque Brandberg, Namibia’s highest mountain, which is home to thousands of ancient rock paintings – most notably the White Lady. You can also visit the Petrified Forest, which offers a haunting landscape of gigantic, fossilised tree trunks that can be dated back 280 million years.
One of the most dramatic rock formations in Namibia is the 35m high pillar of rock, the Vingerklip or Finger of Stone. It stands proudly above a valley in the ancient landscape known as the Ugab terracese.
No trip to Africa would be complete without a safari. Etosha is one of Africa’s great wildlife parks and Namibia’s prime wilderness conservation area. It holds one of the largest populations of black rhino in the world and unlike other parks, where you can spend days looking for animals, Etosha’ s charm lies in its ability to bring the animals to you. Even if you’ve had a taste of African wildlife watching previously, you are likely to be mesmerised by it here.
Set in the heart of Namibia’s Otjozondjupa region, Otjiwa Game Reserve spans 12,000 hectares of open bushveld, rolling plains and acacia-studded savanna. The reserve exudes a serene and private atmosphere, where wildlife roams freely, and the horizon stretches unbroken beneath vast African skies.
Visitors can embark on guided game drives to spot giraffe, zebra, antelope and rhino, or enjoy walking safaris that reveal the subtle rhythms of the bush. At sunrise, the air carries the scent of dry grass and earth, while the calls of birds and distant wildlife punctuate the quiet, a place where Namibia’s wild beauty is both immersive and unforgettable.
After a relaxed check-out of Otjiwa drive back to Windhoek for one last night in Namibia knowing that you have had the privilege of exploring one of the most beautiful countries on earth and already planning your return.
