Waterberg Plateau Lodge is in the Otjiwarongo area in the North central region of Namibia, some 350 km north of Windhoek. Most of the plateau is inaccessible and several the country’s endangered species (such as black and white rhino, sable antelope, tsessebe, buffalo and wildebeest) were introduced to protect them from predators and poaching.
Waterberg Plateau Lodge stands on a high terrace directly below the enormous, vividly red sandstone rocks of the Waterberg Plateau. There are eight stone chalets, all offering sweeping views onto the Kalahari below and a sense of comfort and tranquillity. Guests are able to walk several excellent guided trails both in the valley and up onto the plateau, whilst down on the flatter land below game drives are offered, with giraffe and black rhino amongst the highlights.
