Tour Highlights
The Western Cape is the first choice and most visited destination of South Africa for first time visitors. At its heart lies the Cape Peninsula and the Mother City of Cape Town, one of the world’s most beautiful cities, in an idyllic setting at the foot of Table Mountain. The popularity of visiting the Western Cape is the diversity of the region, from the breath-taking scenery, historic homesteads, and superb wine estates.
The Overberg has rugged mountain ranges, fynbos, rolling wheat and canola fields, and splendid coastal vistas. It is for you to reflect, discover and maybe even have the adventure of a lifetime. Nature reserve abound, showcasing a wealth of fauna and flora, whilst Robertson, a town known as the valley of wine and roses is a must.
The Klein Karoo Region (home to Route 62, the longest wine, mountain and fruit route in the world) has a landscape fashioned almost entirely by water, ranging from lush greenery in the fertile river valleys to short, rugged Karoo plants in the veld. Gorges follow rivers that cut through towering mountains and passes cross-imposing terrain, leaving one stunned by the magnificence. The long narrow valley is rich in geological shapes, culture, history, Bushman art, prolific plant species and is also the home of the spectacular Cango Caves as well as the largest bird in the world – the ostrich.
The Garden Route is universally known for its spectacular natural beauty. The journey crosses magnificent mountain passes, winds gently along the unspoiled coastline, and ventures deep into the breath-taking state forest in the Tsitsikamma National Park. The lush, forested Garden Route takes in some of the country’s finest seaside resorts, like Wilderness, Plettenberg Bay, and – perhaps the best known of all – Knysna, with its giant sandstone ‘Heads’ framing the entrance to the lagoon.
This Western Cape game reserve provides the perfect safari, offering a distinctive and luxurious malaria-free nature experience. Indigenous fynbos vegetation cloaks the undulating valleys, adding vivid colour and interest to a Big Five Safari experience with awe inspiring views of the Langeberg Mountains wherever you look.
